ABOUT HORSES' A horse is a solid hooved plant eating mammel. It has a flowing mane and tail. A horse can be used for riding or to pull or carry heavy loads. A male horse is called a stallion,a female is a mare and a baby is a foal. There are different breeds of horses. Each beed is bred for a certain perpose. Some breeds are ment to be fast, others are bred to be good at jumping. There are many breeds, the quarter horse ,the pinto the arabian ect...There are so many , it would take me half a page too name them all back to back. Horses are natrully fast, this is so they can run away from their enemies.Horses will sleep standing up, this is also for protection reasons. Horses will eat hay and grass. I once knew a horse that ate chocolate cake. sometimes their diets will vairy.Horses can live up to the age of 30, an old horse can be 35.Ponies can live up to 40.A pony is a horse of any small breed. A big fair will usually have a pony ride, this is where little kids can go and ride on a pony and be led. A fair will also have a carousel, where you can sit on a fake horse and go round and round. On some carousels you can go up and down and round. There are 2 ways to ride a horse. You can ride bareback or with a saddle.First I'll tell you about riding bareback. It is called that because you ride with no saddle. It isn't very comfortable because there is nothing between you and the horse's back. The second way is when you ride with a saddle. This way is very comfortable because there is something between you and the horse's back.In the olden days the natives used horses'.They wuold always ride with no saddle. The mounted apart of the army would also use horses',but they would use saddles and bridles.Later on in this website you will learn about some of these subjects in greater detail, so have fun!
